Monterey Bay Fish Grotto, located on Mount Washington, was named as one of Open Table’s “100 Most Romantic Restaurants” this month.

If you were hoping to snag a table at one of Pittsburgh’s most romantic restaurants for Valentine’s Day, you might have to pick another day.

Altius and Monterey Bay Fish Grotto, both located on Mt. Washington, were just named among the 100 Most Romantic Restaurants by Open Table, the popular app restaurants use to allow diners to make reservations.

According to Open Table on Thursday morning, both restaurants appear to be booked for Valentine’s Day and only a handful of reservations remain for the rest of the weekend.

Open Table said its list of honorees is based on an analysis of more than 12,000,000 reviews of more than 28,000 restaurants across the country submitted by verified diners.

Altius, 1230 Grandview Ave., offers contemporary American fare, including the most popular Chilean Sea Bass.

One diner wrote in a review, “We went here for our anniversary and had an amazing experience from the service to the food. The specialty drinks were delicious! This place is great for special occasions and worth every penny. Will be returning in a few months to celebrate my college graduation!”

The Monterey Bay Fish Grotto, 1411 Grandview Ave., offers fresh fish flown in daily and a broad wine list.

Another diner wrote in a review, “This was amazing. Great service. Our waitress was extremely attentive and kind. The view was out of this world. The food was perfect. Great wine selection. Couldn’t ask for a better, more romantic end to our trip in Pittsburgh. A must-go!”

This isn’t the first time the two restaurants have made a list by Open Table. They both made the list of 100 Most Scenic Restaurants list for 2018 last fall.
