Clearly, there are two kinds of people in this world: Those who like Old Bay seasoning and those who are wrong.
The former were delighted a year ago when Old Bay Seasoned Goldfish crackers became a thing. But, sadly for them, their joy was short-lived as the bags quickly sold out.
Lucky fans who did manage to snag a bag hit social media with accolades.
“The greatest snack to ever grace my tongue,” one snacker wrote. “Hands down the best cracker EVER,” another shared.
Obviously, you can’t keep a good thing down, and the seasoned crackers are returning to shelves.
“Goldfish fans made it clear — they love this flavor and wanted it to stay, so we brought it back,” said Janda Lukin, senior vice president and chief marketing officer of Campbell Snacks. “Their praise read like a love song, so we created one featuring actual fan posts about their passion for Old Bay Seasoned Goldfish,” Lukin said. “They’re back — and this time accompanied by the love ballad they deserve.”
And so they called up ’90s singer-songwriter Lisa Loeb to cut a new (pitched up) version of her hit song “Stay.”
Oddly, the snack won’t be “staying” on shelves — it’s a limited time only once again. The snacks will be available where Goldfish are sold, with a suggested price of $3.69 for a 6.6-ounce bag. Fans can also visit McCormick’s website and grab a two-pack for $7.38.
