Pittsburgh All-Star Craft Beer, Wine and Cocktail Festival postponed to 2022
The Pittsburgh All-Star Craft Beer, Wine and Cocktail Festival scheduled for October has been moved to 2022.
Organizers announced the change on the website.
“The decision was made with the health and safety of our staff members, vendors, and attendees in mind,” the website said.
It added that staffing shortages for festivals, and the service industry in general, were another key factor in the decision.
A new date will be announced soon.
After missing last year because of the pandemic, the third annual event was slated for Oct. 16 at PNC Park on Pittsburgh’s North Shore. The festival has hundreds of craft beer, wine and cocktail brands from around the world, as well as local products. More than 10,000 people attend the festival, which is the largest outdoor beer, wine and cocktail events in the region.
A portion of proceeds are donated to The Trauma Survivors Foundation, an organization that provides therapists for emergency response during and after traumatic events.
The event has been nominated by USA Today’s 10 Best Readers’ Choice Travel Awards for best beer festival.
Attendees emailed concerns about the increasing numbers in the covid-19 variant. With it being a tasting event, staying masked would be difficult for patrons.
“With our customers’ safety in mind, we believe it appropriate to postpone this event,” the website said.
Current tickets will be honored for the new date. Ticket purchasers who received Pirates ticket vouchers may use them this season. There is one home stand remaining.
