For some holiday celebrants, the greatest gift is a night off from kitchen duty.

Several area restaurants will be open Christmas Eve, including Bahama Breeze Island Grille, with a location in Robinson Township, and Braddock’s Rebellion, also open Christmas Day, 107 Sixthth St., Pittsburgh.

If you can’t escape to the islands, maybe dodge the cold winds at Bahama Breeze Island Grille, open until 10 p.m. Dec. 24 and serving two new Jamaican-inspired cocktails and two new jerk-seasoned dishes as part of the new in-restaurant event Jamaican Cool Rummings.

Tropical drink options include Rumaway Pineapple and Montego Bay Breeze.

For dinner, choose from Chicken and Shrimp Pineapple Rice and Jerk Chicken Pinchos.

Braddock’s Rebellion offers some more traditional options for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, 4 to 9 p.m., at $60 per person.

Menu includes starters butternut squash soup or baby greens; appetizers including artisan meat and cheese board, seared lollipop lamp chops. Entrees featured pan-seared Alaskan halibut, Gerber Farms grilled half Amish chicken, 12-ounce Angus reserve slow-roasted prime rib.

Desserts include apple and candied walnut tart and gingerbread and white chocolate trifle.
