Reese's and Oreo to collaborate on 2 new desserts
Reese’s and Oreo are teaming up to create two new desserts — the Reese’s Oreo Cup and Oreo Reese’s Cookies.
Each treat will have a blend of the iconic flavors:
- The Reese’s Oreo Cup brings together milk chocolate and white creme peanut butter cups with Oreo cookie crumbs.
- The Oreo Reese’s Cookies will be signature Oreo chocolate sandwich cookies filled with a Reese’s peanut buttery creme with Oreo cookie crumbs.
The last time a collaboration happened was in 2014 with the limited-edition Peanut Cup Oreo, People reported.
“We’re always striving to break into the cultural conversation with unexpected and delicious partnerships for fans,” said Michelle Deignan, vice president of the Oreo brand in the U.S.
Oreo and Reese’s said they have seen the comments and DMs, as well as posts on social media about combining the two products.
“At Reese’s, we’re obsessed with pushing the boundaries of what chocolate and peanut butter can become — and our fans fuel that fire,” said Dan Mohnshine, vice president of Confection Marketing at The Hershey Company in the U.S. “This isn’t just another product launch — it’s two legendary brands coming together to create something absolutely unprecedented that’ll blow minds and taste buds everywhere.”
The Wall Street Journal’s Facebook post about the new collaboration has garnered around 20,000 reactions, 5,300 comments and 7,600 shares from excited fans as of Wednesday afternoon.
Starting Aug. 18, the new treats will be available for presale on The Hershey’s Store.
Fans can sign up here for first access to the Reese’s Oreo Cups, and fans can sign up here for early access to the Oreo Reese’s Cookies.
Presale orders will begin shipping the week of Sept. 2, USA Today reported.
Both desserts will be available starting in September at retailers nationwide.
The Reese’s Oreo Cups will be available in King Size, Standard Size and Miniature Cups, and it is the latest — permanent edition to the REESE’S portfolio, according to the release.
The Oreo Reese’s Cookies will be available while supplies last and will return to shelves as part of the Oreo brand’s portfolio in January.
