Pink in the New Year is a celebratory concoction to enjoy on New Year’s Eve.

In just two days, we can kiss 2019 goodbye and put a lip lock on 2020.

Many of us look forward to ushering out the old year, and raising a toast as the new one arrives.

If your plans include enjoying a glass of sparkling wine, you want to be sure you are serving your bubbly in the proper vessel.

According to Fine Wine and Good Spirits, the shape of a glass can enhance the taste and effervescence of sparkling wine, and it has designed a guide for pouring.

The flute is best for drier varietals — crémant, cava — because it preserves the most bubbles.

Going fruity — prosecco, sparkling rosé? Go with the tulip glass. Its wider shape allows aromatics to collect in the glass.

The wide tulip collects flavors that come from aging, and is best for sipping vintage champagne and gran reserva cava.

Finally, nestle your sweetest sips — asti spumante, demi-sec crémant — in a coupe glass. A 1950s throwback, the shape allows the bubbles to disperse, making wines taste softer and fruitier.

Ready for a cocktail? Try the following recipe, also courtesy of Fine Wine and Good Spirits.
