Sheetz brings blueberry thrill to new Brewberry Muffinz beer
Following up on the popularity of its first craft beer release in May, Sheetz, is partnering with Evil Genius Beer Co. for a limited roll-out of a fruity, breakfast favorite-infused new beer.
“Project Brewberry Muffinz” will be available for sale beginning at 4 p.m. Aug. 29 at 99 Sheetz stores across Pennsylvania.

Although the new beer likely won’t turn one’s fingers or tongue blue, its creators hope it will bring to mind the sweet scents and flavors of the convenience store chain’s muffins. The new beer is described as a light-bodied blonde ale infused with Sheetz’s Shweetz blueberry muffins.
Four-packs of Project Brewberry Muffinz beer will be available for $7.99. The brew will be available while supplies last and will not be restocked, Sheetz officials say.
The can’s cover and a video introducing the beer both feature a mad scientist motif.

“We are always listening to our customers, and want to ensure our brand is being innovative and creative. Our Shweetz blueberry muffins have always been a major hit with them — and brewing our muffins in beer is an idea that we thought would resonate positively with our ‘Sheetz freakz,’” Sheetz spokesman Nick Ruffner said.
“Those who drink the beer will taste the same deliciousness they’ve come to expect from our muffins,” he adds.
Silly sweetness
Evil Genius used “hundreds and hundreds” of Shweetz blueberry muffins to craft the beer.
“We thought a sweet and flavorful blonde ale beer would be the perfect treat for our customers as we close out the summer,” Ruffner says.
“As is Evil Genius tradition, we’ve taken a traditional style and turned it on its head by adding Sheetz’s delicious blueberry muffins while brewing the beer,” company partner and co-founder Trevor Hayward says in a release.
“Collaboration beers have been an area of tremendous growth for us and we love letting our creative juices shine in the process as we continue to make very serious beers with very silly names,” Hayward adds.
