With a message shaped like a heart and made of coffee beans Soluna, a Latin-inspired cafe in Pittsburgh’s Strip District announced on social media Tuesday it will be closing for good on Sunday.
Known for handcrafted coffee, baked goods and Latin-inspired dishes, ownership shared a message that “After much reflection, we have made the difficult decision to close Soluna at 16th & Penn. This decision does not come lightly, and it is with deep appreciation that we say farewell to the incredible community we’ve been fortunate to serve. It has been an honor to be part of your daily routines, celebrations, and quiet moments. We are so grateful for your loyalty, support, and the friendships we’ve built along the way,” the message said.
The doors will close at 3 p.m. Sunday.
It appears the phone is not working. Messages through social media were not returned.
The place was founded as a coffee shop and evolved into serving Latin American cuisine from breakfast and lunch options to savory arepas — a type of flatbread — and sweet pastries.
