Nearly eight centuries ago this month, the Mongol-Tatars invaded much of Eastern Europe, including Kievan Rus’, which is now the Ukraine.

Is that a good reason to try out some Ukrainian junk food? Sure, why not?

One of the final Universal Yums boxes we received was full of snacks from the Ukraine, so the Taste Test squad took advantage of Wednesday’s lovely weather and tried to few snacks from the home of Chernobyl, pysanky and the world’s deepest train station.

What would you like the TribLive Taste Test team to try? Email pvarine@triblive.com and let us know!

Also, with these Universal Yum boxes, we’ll include what snacks we tried, since you can actually order many of them directly from Universal Yums.
