Say it all together now: What?!?!??

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.

But life did not give us lemons here at the TribLive Taste Test. Instead, it gave us Utz Limited Edition Lemonade potato chips.

In all respects except the obvious one, these are just like any other potato chip. Very similar in fat content, salt content, etc. And we here at Taste Test headquarters are big fans of lemon pepper as a flavoring. Lemon can blend with savory pretty well — consider the sauce for veal piccata, for example, or the several varieties of Girl Scout cookie that feature some lemon flavor.

But lemonade? The response around the office was mixed.

The chips give a quick hit of lemony sweetness before giving way to a pretty standard flavor.

Regardless of how they taste, purchasing them helps support the nonprofit Alex’s Lemonade Stand, which raises money for research into childhood cancers.

What did we think? Find out!

Is there something you think the Taste Test team should try out? Email us and let us know!
