Yuengling’s collaboration chocolate beer with Hershey’s returns
A familiar collaboration beer with Pennsylvania roots is back.
D.G. Yuengling & Son’s Hershey’s Chocolate Porter returns as a seasonal release, just in time for the fall holidays. It will be available in bottles and on draft starting this week.
“It’s year three of the most epic chocolate and beer collaboration and this year we’re combining the return of the Yuengling Hershey’s Chocolate Porter with our favorite holiday, Halloween,” said Ernie Savo, senior director, global licensing for The Hershey Company in a statement.
In 2019, the limited-run release porter ended up being wildly successful as a test run. It sold out within weeks and had been expected to be available through Valentine’s Day. The beer combines Yuengling’s nearly 200-year old Dark Brewed Porter recipe with Hershey’s chocolate.
It took roughly nine months to create, and utilized Hershey cocoa powder and chocolate nibs in the brewing process, Jennifer Yuengling, vice president of operations, told PennLive two years ago. The beer marked the first time Yuengling had experimented with a chocolate flavor in any of its products, which has become a popular variety of beer in recent years.
The chocolate porter is sold in 22 states of Yuengling’s 23-state footprint. Find out more — including a beer locator — at Yuengling’s website.
In tandem with the release, Yuengling is hosting a “Scary Delicious Tour” promotion.
