The unofficial end of summer? Psh! The temperatures are still high, the sun is still out and there’s still plenty to do before we call it a day on the most beloved season. Enjoy your long weekend with these events.

Acrisure Stadium Kickoff and Rib Festival

It’s time for football season, and Acrisure Stadium will be celebrating with this weekend-long event. With free entry, the big celebration will have something for everyone, including free concerts, food vendors, football-themed fun and 12 nationally recognized rib vendors competing for the grand prize.

Musical acts will include a 9 p.m. Friday night performance by The Clarks and a Monday lineup of blues musicians. Don’t forget about the Pitt vs. Duquesne football game on Saturday (a ticketed event) followed by a postgame street party, the Sunday Cornhole Classic and daily activities.

Hours for the festival are Friday from noon to 11 p.m.; Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. (with the Pitt vs. Duquesne game at noon); Sunday from noon to 11 p.m.; and Monday from noon to 9 p.m. at Acrisure Stadium on the North Shore. To learn more about the schedule and register for ticketed events, visit acrisurestadium.com.

Britsburgh Afternoon Tea at the Mansions on Fifth

Kicking off a week of events for the Britsburgh Festival, this fancy Monday afternoon event is for those who enjoy the finer things in life. The high tea will be held at Shadyside’s Mansions on Fifth and will feature delicious food and drink and stimulating conversation.

The tea will feature finger sandwiches, pastries (including scones, of course) and delicious tea. Tickets are $55 for Britsburgh members and $75 for non-members.

Live Album Series: ‘Purple Rain’

Want to relive one of the greatest albums of the 1980s? This weekend, you’ll get the chance at Bottlerocket Social Hall in the Allentown neighborhood. As part of their Live Album Series, they’ll have an internationally touring Prince tribute act to perform all of “Purple Rain” — from “Let’s Go Crazy” to the title track — in order.

The Prince Project is up to the challenge of this album’s variety of sounds, from the searing guitar of “Let’s Go Crazy” to the vocal madness of “Darling Nikki” to the deep cuts that dedicated fans will love to hear live — and newcomers will fall in love with for the first time.

The show will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at Bottlerocket Social Hall. For tickets, visit bottlerocketpgh.com.

Pittsburgh Soul Food Festival

Continue to eat your way through the city during the long weekend with the Pittsburgh Soul Food Festival. Taking place from Friday to Sunday, the festival will be held in Downtown Pittsburgh on Stanwix Street and Liberty Avenue around the Wyndham Grand Hotel.

If you can’t get enough ribs, show up on Saturday at 4 p.m. for the festival’s BBQ rib contest. In addition, there will be dozens of food and cultural vendors, activities and entertainment. Don’t miss this celebration of Black food traditions right here in our own backyard.

The festival will last from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Downtown Pittsburgh. Learn more at the Facebook event here.

Broadway at the Overlook

Get a look at Pittsburgh Musical Theater’s upcoming season at the West End Overlook this weekend. See previews of shows including “Evil Dead The Musical,” “Disney’s Newsies,” “Beetlejuice Jr.” “Dear Evan Hansen” and “Annie,” all performed by artists and conservatory students from Pittsburgh Musical Theater.

Performances will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the West End-Elliott Overlook. The hour-and-a-half event is free and will have a brief intermission. Some concessions will be available for purchase, or you can bring a picnic and hang out for the hour and a half before the show. To learn more, visit pittsburghmusicals.com
