Natural wonders — like dinosaurs and other spooky specimens, talented teens and musical geniuses — are in the spotlight this weekend in Pittsburgh.

Tyrannosaurus time

Dinosaurs roam the earth again in the Jurassic World Live Tour, coming this weekend to PPG Paints Arena, 1001 Fifth Ave., Pittsburgh.

Show times are 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday and noon and 4 p.m. Sunday.

Audiences will travel to the jungles of Isla Nublar, where gyrospheres roll through the valley and scientists work to unravel a corrupt plan and save a new dinosaur from a terrible fate. The show features more than 24 film-accurate, life-sized dinosaurs, including fan-favorite Velociraptor Blue and a Tyrannosaurus rex more than 40 feet in length.

Tickets are $21-$24. For information and reservations, visit jurassicworldlivetour.com.

Beatlemania

Fans of the Beatles can hear note-for-note renditions of classics from “Can’t Buy Me Love” and “Twist and Shout” to “A Day in the Life” and “Here Comes the Sun,” when The Fab Four: The Ultimate Tribute takes the stage at 8 p.m. Friday at the Benedum Center, 237 7th St. in the Cultural District.

Founded in 1997, the California-based group has performed around the world with a stage show that includes three costume changes tracking the phases of the Beatles’ career. They are winners of a 2013 Emmy Award for a PBS special filmed in 2012.

Tickets are $35-$99, available by calling 412-456-6666 or online at trustarts.org.

Boo to you

Booseum Trick-or-Treat, a nature-themed Halloween celebration, is planned for 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, 4400 Forbes Ave. in Oakland.

Come in costume and travel through the museum’s haunted halls to find spooky specimens like spiders and skeletons. Young visitors can earn stamps during a scavenger hunt and then redeem them for a goodie bag, while supplies last.

Booseum is a program of Super Science Saturdays, sponsored by PA Cyber Charter School, TribLive and Tender Care Learning Centers.

Those planning to attend are encouraged to reserve timed tickets in advance at carnegiemnh.org.

Teen talents

A Teen Talent Showcase is planned for noon-4 p.m. Saturday at the Carnegie Science Center, 1 Allegheny Ave. on the North Side.

Area young people ages 13-18 will present talents of all kinds, no performing experience necessary. The free session is open to the public and will include light refreshments and performances by Pittsburgh Musical Theater.

To register to perform or to attend, visit carnegiesciencecenter.org.

Italian sonatas

Chatham Baroque will present the early-music Twelfth Night Ensemble in concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Shadyside Presbyterian Church, 5121 Westminster Place.

Titled “Flash and Elegance,” the program will be an exploration of Italian sonatas by Caldara, Vivaldi and Lanzetti, with special emphasis on the violoncello da spalla, a small cello played braced against the shoulder and dating to the early 16th century.

Ensemble members include Rachell Ellen Wong on violin, David Belkovski on harpsichord, Carmen Johnson-Pájaro on violin and Andrew Gonzalez on violoncello da spalla.

Tickets are $40, $35 for ages 65 and older, $20 for students. For information and reservations, visit chathambaroque.org.
