Humorous Yinzer cards ‘not your grandmother’s Valentine’
Okay, cupids. You know Valentine’s Day is coming. And your sweeties will be expecting card and candy declarations of your love.
Those declarations do not, however, have to be sappy or sentimental, especially if your loved one has a good sense of humor.
Hailing from Pittsburgh also helps.
The Yinzer Card company created by comedian Jim Krenn, Larry Richert and Rob Rogers is at it again, this time putting their own special spin on the sweetest holiday.
Their line of Valentine’s Day Yinzer Cards and Yinzer Bars is available at Pittsburgh-area Giant Eagle, Market District and Laurie’s Hallmark stores and online.
It’s a fun way to tell your crush you are “Nebby 4U” or “Crazy ‘Baht Yinz.”
Cards also feature Pittsburgh rocker Donnie Iris as Cupid and assure loved ones they are right behind the “Stillers” in their honey’s eyes.
“They are not exactly your grandmother’s Valentine greeting card or candy,” says Krenn, who started the card line in 2018 with radio personality Richert and cartoonist Rogers.
“We wanted to strike a more casual and fun tone with a new kind of card,” he adds.
Yinzer Cards retail for $4.99 and Yinzer Bars for $2.99.
A portion of sales benefits two Pittsburgh-based non-profits: Animal Friends will receive the sales of the cards, while Yinzer Bars will benefit Spenser’s Voice Fund.
