Today is National Puppy Day.

It began in 2006, and there’s little doubt we’ve never needed it more than we do today. We are going into our second week of coronavirus quarantine, practicing social distancing holed up in our houses. We are missing our friends, our jobs, our teachers.

You know who is happy about all of this? Your dog!

Instead of waiting at the window for your post-work arrival, pooches everywhere are snuggled up with their people. That alone is worthy of celebration.

The coronavirus may have shut down the world of sports, but ESPN2 still has some programming. There’ll be six hours of primetime dog shows starting tonight at 6.

Celebs are dog people, too.

Everyone’s favorite big red dog started out as a puppy, of course.

Dress ‘em up and spread the love.
