As preparations begin for the Ligonier Country Market to open its season on May 18, volunteers are welcome to attend a cleanup day at the Loyalhanna Watershed Association Farm, where the market is held.

The cleanup will take place at 9 a.m. May 4 (rain date May 11), says Cari Frei, market executive director.

Market vendors, staff and board members will be on hand to pull weeds, erect fencing, mark parking spaces and perform other routine maintenance.

“This year marks our 44th season, and we’ll be getting the grounds ready for another eventful and exciting year for shoppers, vendors and our community,” says Frei.

Along with hosting more than 130 farm, craft and prepared food and drink vendors each Saturday during its season, the Ligonier Country Market offers a full slate of special features and events, including children’s activities and live music.
