Easter fun isn’t just for little ones. Lisa Hegedus, owner of Caffe Barista in downtown Greensburg, made sure of that by offering an Adult Easter Egg Hunt.

Original plans were for an outside hunt April 12 at the Greensburg Garden and Civic Center, but heavy rain earlier in the day scotched that idea.

Instead, 100-plus guests were instructed to grab six different-colored eggs hidden in plain sight on tables or tucked into nooks and crannies around the center’s banquet room. They also were told to keep an eye out for some special gold eggs.

Hegedus said she got her inspiration from similar events at Edgewood Winery in Spring Church, which supplies wines to her eatery.

Bags full of eggs were then collected at the bar, where prizes were distributed.

“Everybody walks out with prizes,” Hegedus told the crowd. “If you have bags, you get prizes.”

Also on the receiving end was CASA of Westmoreland, beneficiary of proceeds from raffles, including a 50-50, gift baskets and “Dinner for Days,” with restaurant gift cards totaling $500.

Carol Palcic and Mary Lou Hugus represented CASA at the event that also included a buffet dinner from the cafe, Edgewood wines, a DJ and dancing..
