Out & About: Latrobe comedy night just what the doctor ordered
It’s late January, our nation is seriously divided and the Doomsday Clock has just inched closer to midnight.
Don’t we all need a good laugh to take our minds off our troubles?
A packed house got just what the doctor ordered at Comedy Night, hosted Jan. 25 by Latrobe-GLSD Parks and Recreation in Latrobe’s Huber Hall.
Featured comedians, who traveled from Cleveland for the performance, were Michael Cheselka, Michael Ivy and Josh Lawhorn.
Cheselka said he “got lucky,” when a friend who was originally scheduled to perform couldn’t make it and asked him to fill in.
It was the organization’s 16th laugh riot, said program administrative assistant Dawn Vavick, and second-largest annual fundraiser after its Thanksgiving Turkey Trot.
Held every year on the weekend prior to Super Bowl Sunday, Comedy Night is a good way to bring the community together to have some fun, she said.
Guests were treated to a buffet dinner and dessert bar before the show got under way.
Seen: Parks and Rec director Craig Shevchik and staffers Cindy Smith, Trey Hudock and Katie Korzak, along with Joe Bellack, Rosanne Bodziak, Rose Lishego, Kathy Koontz, Chris and Annette Couch, Steve Tulenko, Dave and Jody Johnston, Rich and Chris Levay, Dr. Gail Lundquist-Tobias and David Tobias, Marty Singer, Adam and Kelly Heese and Denny and Terilyn Yamber.
