It was chilly outside but downright tropical inside the Greensburg Hempfield Area Library on Nov. 9 for the annual Library Libations fundraiser.

“Welcome to Hemingway’s Key West” was the theme, and the dress code called for sundresses, Hawaiian shirts, Panama hats and flip-flops. Rattan and bamboo ringed the room, and while tables were decked with bright-colored foliage.

DJ Glenn Smith’s playlist included plenty of Jimmy Buffett.

Attendees bellied up to Sloppy Joe’s Bar, named for the iconic American author’s favorite Key West watering hole, to try the signature drink of hibiscus-infused iced tea with Stateside Vodka.

Adding to the fun, there were chances at a $1,000 “Key West Treasure Chest” prize, the “It’s 5 O’Clock Somewhere” restaurant gift card raffle and a basket raffle.

Event co-chairs were Judy Hobbs Mizikar and Janelle Stayt. Committee members included library director Jamie Falo, Barbara Bee, Diane Ciabattoni, Diane Hartland, Mary Lou Hugus, Missy Smeltz, Cindy Strayer and Magdelyn Vale.

Also seen: Chuck and Nancy Anderson, John and Gretchen Kline, Linda Earnest, Margaret DiVirgilio, Linda Assard, George and Jane Church, Keith and Shirleah Kelly, Barbara Ferrier, Sindy Diaz, Tom and Christen Mizikar, Nancy Jamison, Kalissa Andre, Joe Baughman, Ken Ficerai, Ray Hartland, Chuck and Sally Loughran, Bill and Judy Scheeren, David and Sondra Long, Marjorie Nelson and Joanne Rugh.
