A woman was found dead with gunshot wounds Friday morning in a Duquesne residence, Allegheny County Police said.

The County’s Homicide Unit said emergency services received reports at 2:42 a.m. of a shooting in the 1000 block of Orchard Park Avenue. Police said first responders found a woman dead inside the residence and a man injured. Both had gunshot wounds.

The man was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

On Oct. 24, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the woman as Niejah Hill, 23, of Duquesne.

Preliminary information is that an unidentified person entered the residence and shot the man and woman, police said.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the County Police Tip Line at 1-833-255-8477 (ALL-TIPS). Callers can remain anonymous.
