Pittsburgh police have arrested a Pittsburgh man they say shot another man in the head in Troy Hill on Saturday morning.

John Withrow, 65, remained in the Allegheny County Jail on Sunday after being denied bond. Magisterial District Judge Eileen M. Conroy deemed him a “threat to society,” according to online court records.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired on Lowrie Street at Tinsbury Street around 10 a.m. When they arrived, they found a man in the street who had been shot in the head. Paramedics took him to the hospital in critical condition.

Police believe the shooting was sparked by some type of altercation between two motorists. Investigators were interviewing witnesses.

Withrow was charged with one felony count of aggravated assault. A preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 24 before Magisterial District Judge Kim Berkeley Clark.
