A man was injured early Wednesday in a carjacking in Pittsburgh’s Elliott neighborhood.

Pittsburgh police responded to a reported carjacking just before 4 a.m. Wednesday in the 800 block of Herschel Street.

At the scene, officers found a man bleeding from the head. He told officers he had been approached by three armed men who pistol-whipped him. He said one of the men drove off in his vehicle, while the others fled on foot.

Medics treated him at the scene, and he refused to be taken to the hospital.

Police found his vehicle shortly after the reported carjacking. It was towed for processing by the Pittsburgh Police Auto Squad.

Detectives are investigating the incident.
