A man died Sunday morning after his SUV went off the side of a bridge in Duquesne.

According to Allegheny County Police, the crash at the Thompson Run Bridge was reported shortly before 11 a.m.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner identified the man as David Judy, of West Mifflin. He died at the scene.

Police said Judy’s 2016 Toyota 4Runner was traveling at high speed when it hit a curb, crossed the center line and went off the bridge.

Only one vehicle was involved. Judy was alone in the vehicle, police said.

Police were awaiting autopsy results.

Traffic was stopped on the bridge while police investigated. Crews left the scene around 2 p.m., according to the West Mifflin No. 2 Volunteer Fire Co.

The fire company said the sidewalk will remain closed pending repairs.
