A person died in a house fire in Jefferson Hills early Saturday morning.

The fire in the 100 block of Frontier Drive was reported shortly after 3 a.m., an Allegheny County 911 dispatcher said.

The first firefighters to arrive found heavy fire and began an offensive attack, according to the Pleasant Hills Volunteer Fire Department.

Because of water supply issues, crews briefly evacuated the house until a good water supply was established, the department said.

One person died. No other information on them was immediately available.

The fire originated in a second-floor bedroom and the victim was found in a second-floor bathroom, according to Kasey Reigner, spokesperson for the Allegheny County Department of Emergency Services.

The Allegheny County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating, but Reigner said the fire is not considered to be suspicious.
