1 transported to hospital after Polish Hill crash

Pittsburgh city workers put up a barricade to close down Herron Avenue on Monday morning to allow Duquesne Light crews to restore power to parts of Polish Hill after car crashed into pole.

One person was taken by ambulance Monday morning from the scene of a crash in Pittsburgh’s Polish Hill neighborhood, according to a dispatcher for Allegheny 911.

Around 4 a.m., a vehicle crashed into a utility pole on Herron Avenue near the intersection of Dobson Street, the dispatcher said. The scene was between Bigelow Boulevard and Liberty Avenue.

There were 56 customers were left without power in the Lawrenceville ZIP code, not far from the scene, at 1 p.m., according to Duquesne Light.
