A 17-year-old boy was found with a gunshot wound to the lower leg in Turtle Creek Tuesday night, according to Allegheny County police.

Officers initially were called to Route 30 near Warren Drive in North Versailles at 9:40 p.m. for a report of shots fired, according to authorities. Nineteen minutes later, first responders were summoned to Maple Avenue in Turtle Creek — 2 1/2 miles away from the original call — where they found the wounded boy.

He was hospitalized and is expected to be OK, police said. A vehicle with gunshot holes was found in Turtle Creek.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the county police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.
