1 dead, 2 injured in overnight shooting in Hazelwood
Pittsburgh police are investigating a shooting that killed an 18-year-old man and injured two others in the city’s Hazelwood neighborhood early Friday morning.
Police and EMS responded to a Shotspotter alert and 911 calls at the 200 block of Johnston Avenue around 12:40 a.m., officials said.
Officers found two gunshot victims in the 100 block of Johnston Avenue.
Medics transported one victim to the hospital in critical condition. Darrian Davis, 18, of West Homestead later died of his injuries, according to the Allegheny County coroner’s office.
A second victim went to the hospital in a private vehicle.
A third victim arrived at the hospital around 6 a.m. with a graze wound, officials said.
Witnesses told police the shots were fired from a dark-colored sedan.
Police are investigating the incident as a homicide, and additional information was not immediately available.
