A 10-year-old boy was injured Monday night after a bullet struck him while he was inside a house in Pittsburgh’s Sheraden neighborhood, according to police.

Officers responding to Zephyr Avenue around 9:30 p.m. said they used a tourniquet on the boy’s arm and he was taken to a hospital in stable condition by paramedics. Police said they received a ShotSpotter alert after 14 rounds were fired.

A second person hurt in the gunfire was found nearby on Sherwood Avenue. A 19-year-old man was hospitalized in serious condition, police said.

No information was released on potential suspects.

It was the second consecutive day Pittsburgh Police reported receiving a ShotSpotter alert in which 14 rounds were fired. On Sunday, a man was killed in gunfire about 11 miles away in Larimer.
