2 injured in Liberty Bridge crash
Two people were injured in a head-on crash late Saturday night on the Liberty Bridge in Pittsburgh.
City police said an inbound driver attempted to overtake and pass another vehicle. The passed vehicle swerved into outbound traffic and crashed into an oncoming vehicle, causing it to flip on its side. Police said that driver, an unidentified man, was transported to a hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
The driver of the struck outbound vehicle, an unidentified woman, also was hospitalized and listed in serious condition.
Police said a woman suspected of driving the first inbound vehicle remained at the scene and was questioned by investigators.
The Liberty Bridge was closed for several hours after the crash but has since reopened.
