While the two tickets that won a $1.8 billion Powerball drawing on Sept. 6 were not sold in Pennsylvania, two of three tickets that won $100,000 in the drawing were sold in Allegheny County’s North Hills area, according to the Pennsylvania Lottery.

One was sold at the Giant Eagle on McKnight Road in McCandless, while another was sold at a GetGo on Grandview Avenue in Richland.

The third was sold in Lackawanna County.

The three Powerball with Power Play tickets each matched four of the five white balls drawn, 11-23-44-61-62, and the red Powerball, 17.

Without the $1 Power Play option, the $100,000 tickets would have been worth $50,000 each. The Power Play multiplier drawn was two.

The retailers each earned a $500 bonus for selling the winning tickets.

The jackpot winning tickets were sold in Missouri and Texas. They will split the nearly $1.8 billion jackpot, the second largest Powerball jackpot and the second largest U.S. lottery jackpot.

The jackpot had been building since May 31, when the last jackpot was won in California.

Each ticket holder will have the choice between an annuitized price of $893.6 million or a lump sum payment of $410.3 million, the Pennsylvania Lottery said.

A Powerball jackpot has not been won in Pennsylvania since Aug. 12, 2024.
