Two people were injured Sunday afternoon when they were struck by a car on South Aiken Avenue in Shadyside.

A spokeswoman for the Pittsburgh police said the man and woman were crossing at Centre Avenue around 1:45 p.m. when a driver attempting to make a left turn onto South Aiken struck them.

The driver fled the scene, and both victims were transported to area hospitals in stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
