Two people were taken to the hospital after a fire broke out in Swissvale on Saturday afternoon, according to an Allegheny County 911 dispatcher.

The blaze was reported after 12:30 p.m. at the 500 block of Smokey Wood Drive, the dispatcher said.

The fire department was still on the scene around 2:45 p.m., he said.

TribLive news partner WTAE reported crews had a fire extended to the second story of the apartment building.

Additional information about the condition of the people injured was not immediately available.
