20-year-old man fatally shot in Allegheny Commons East

A man shot multiple times in Pittsburgh’s Allegheny Commons East on Saturday evening has died.

Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the deceased as Nasir Stewart, 20, of Pittsburgh.

Public Safety spokesperson Amanda Mueller said officers responded to a Shotspotter alert for a shooting along the 100 block of East Commons shortly after 6:30 p.m.

Emergency responders found a man shot multiple times and began first aid and CPR on scene.

Mueller said the victim was taken to a hospital where he died.

No information about possible suspects was released. The investigation is ongoing.
