Allegheny County Jail.

Three people have been charged with homicide in connection to a Wilkinsburg shooting last year that killed a 22-year-old man and injured two women, police said Friday.

Herbert Lee Walker III, 24, and Kenya Harper, 25, are charged with homicide and conspiracy, court records show.

Both were arrested and booked into Allegheny County Jail in Pittsburgh as of Friday afternoon, according to county police Lt. Venerando Costa.

An arrest warrant has been issued for a third suspect, Jeremiah Ligon, 22, who is known to frequent Penn Hills and Wilkinsburg, officials said. Ligon also is accused of homicide and conspiracy.

Walker faces an additional charge of aggravated assault.

Further details about each suspect’s alleged role in the shooting were not immediately available.

The shooting happened shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2019.

Police and medics responded to the 500 block of Jeannette Street near Rebecca Avenue for a report that three people had been shot.

Mager Rainey, 22, of Pittsburgh’s Homewood neighborhood was pronounced dead inside a vehicle at the scene.

Two adult women were shot and recovered.

Police at the time said that the trio had just left a home and gotten into a vehicle on Jeannette Street when multiple shots were fired into the car.

The male driver sped off and crashed into several parked vehicles and a building before stopping in a yard along Rebecca Avenue, police said.

Officials asked anyone with information to call the county police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS (1-833-255-8477) or reach out via social media. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
