A Pittsburgh firefighter was hurt Saturday and four people displaced as city firefighters spent the afternoon battling two residential fires in the Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar neighborhood, according to Pittsburgh Police.
The first fire was reported just before 1:15 p.m. on Lincoln Avenue, according to spokeswoman Cara Cruz. Four people were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation and the American Red Cross is providing them with temporary housing.
That fire started in the basement and spread upstairs, Cruz said.
Shortly after the flames were extinguished, firefighters were called to another blaze less than a mile away on Oberlin Street. That fire began in the attic and no one was home. A firefighter suffered a knee injury and was hospitalized, Cruz said.
The cause of both fires is under investigation.
