Six people were injured early Sunday morning when a vehicle crashed near The Pennsylvanian apartment building in Downtown Pittsburgh, Tribune-Review news partner WTAE reported.

The incident started with a traffic stop in Wilkinsburg, a Pittsburgh police spokeswoman said.

The crash, at the East Busway entrance near the Pennsylvanian, happened just before 4 a.m.

Wilkinsburg police could not be reached for comment Sunday.

Two of the six taken to hospitals were in critical condition, the Pittsburgh police spokeswoman said.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor, the spokeswoman said. No information on any arrests was available.

The Pittsburgh Police collision investigation unit is handling the investigation.
