Since the start of the month, the county has only seen four days of triple-digit case counts, while in July all but two days had more than 100 cases.
On Friday, Allegheny County declared that outdoor gatherings will be limited to 100 people, double the limit that has been in effect since mid-July.
The limit on outdoor gatherings was relaxed because of the “decrease in the county’s positivity rate and rolling daily average case counts over the past month,” according to a statement from county officials.
There were three hospitalizations added on Sunday. According to the state, there are 64 Allegheny County residents in the hospital for the virus, with 15 of them on ventilators. In all, 966 people have been hospitalized for covid-19 in the county.
The county’s total number of deaths stands at 330.
