The Allegheny County Elections Division on Tuesday announced expanded hours for voters to apply for, receive and return absentee and mail-in ballots before Election Day.

For those who prefer to cast their ballots on Election Day, 1,323 polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 3. Anyone in line by 8 p.m. will be permitted to vote.

Tuesday, Oct. 27 is the final day to apply for a mail-in or absentee ballot. [Editor’s note: An earlier version of this article incorrectly stated that voters could apply for mail-in ballots past this date.]

The Elections Office at the County Office Building, 542 Forbes Ave., Downtown, will be open for voters to apply for, receive and return their ballots at the following times:

  • Today through Friday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Saturday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Sunday: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Monday: 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Oct. 27: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m

The Elections Division also announced extended lobby hours for ballot returns only:

  • Saturday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Sunday: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Voters can also visit additional sites to apply for or return mail-in and absentee ballots this weekend.

On Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., voters can visit the following locations:

  • County Office Building at 542 Forbes Ave.
  • Boyce Park Ski Lodge
  • CCAC Allegheny
  • CCAC South
  • North Park Ice Rink

On Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., voters can visit the following locations:

  • County Office Building at 542 Forbes Ave.
  • Boyce Park Ski Lodge
  • CCAC Allegheny
  • CCAC South
  • North Park Ice Rink

Voters who have already applied for a mail-in or absentee ballot cannot apply again at the Elections Office.

By state law, voters must return their own ballots. They may not return ballots for other voters.

Voters who made errors on their security or declaration envelopes — or misplaced them — may get replacements at the Elections Office. If a voter has made an error on their ballot, elections officials can reissue a ballot at the offices, but the voter must bring their original ballot.

Officials also reminded voters that regulations requiring face coverings and social distancing will be followed at elections offices.
