Allegheny County posts 106 new coronavirus cases, no new deaths

Allegheny County on Thursday reported 106 new coronavirus cases with no new deaths.

The county’s total number of cases stands at 12,454 with 9,003 recoveries. According to the Allegheny County Health Department’s covid-19 dashboard, 178,796 individuals have tested for the virus. The county has an overall 7% positive test result rate.

Out of Thursday’s cases, the department said 99 were confirmed and seven were probable (all the probables are positive antigen tests) from 913 PCR tests.

The new cases range in age from 11 to 101 years with a median age of 44 years old. The date of positive tests ranged from Sept. 26-30.

The age groups of the newly reported cases — 61 female and 45 male and — are:

0-4: 1 5-12: 1 13-18: 5 19-24: 13 25-49: 37 50-64: 19 65+: 30

September saw 2,001 cases in total, lower than the 2,253 in August and the 5,334 from July. For comparison, there were 849 cases in June, 622 in May, 964 in April and 325 in March.

Since March, the county reports that 382 people have died, while 1,213 people have been hospitalized with 316 admitted to the intensive care unit and 123 requiring mechanical ventilation.
