Allegheny County posts 127 coronavirus cases, no deaths
Allegheny County on Thursday reported 127 new coronavirus cases with no new deaths.
The daily total is the highest in more than two months, when 132 cases were reported on Aug. 4. The county’s total number of cases stands at 13,024.
Out of Thursday’s cases, the Allegheny County Health Department said 117 were confirmed and 10 were probable (seven of the probables are positive antigen tests) from 1,494 PCR tests.
New cases range in age from 10 months to 100 years with a median age of 35 years old. The date of positive tests ranged from Sept. 22 to Oct. 7.
The age groups of the newly reported cases — 65 female and 62 male — are:

Since March, the county reports that 393 people have died, while 1,251 people have been hospitalized.
On Wednesday Allegheny County’s top health official urged caution as covid-19 restrictions continue to loosen across the state and county but expressed optimism as the county’s case count “continues to look quite steady.”
“We can’t let down our guard,” said Health Director Dr. Debra Bogen.
But nursing and senior care facilities continue to be hit hard by the virus.
Five residents died of covid-19 and 130 residents and employees have contracted the coronavirus disease at Allegheny County’s Kane Community Living Center in Scott Township, newly reported data show.
