Allegheny County records third day with no coronavirus deaths

There were no deaths attributed to covid-19 in Allegheny County over the last three days, according to officials.

With no additional deaths announced Monday, the total stands at 349. There were no deaths reported on Sunday or Saturday, while 5 deaths were reported on Friday.

The county recorded 39 new covid-19 cases on Monday. The county’s total number of cases stands at 10,810.

The 39 new cases - all confirmed - were out of 536 test results. This is the third day of the number of tests falling under 1,000.

New cases range in age from three to 82 years with a median age of 30 years. The date of positive tests ranged from Sept. 2-6.

Allegheny County’s seven-day average of new cases is 66 as of Monday. The county has seen a general decrease in the number of covid-19 cases continuing in September, with only one day of triple-digit cases (Thursday). Officials reported 62 cases on Sunday, 68 on Saturday and 92 cases Friday. In August, there were four days with more than 100 cases.

The county added one hospitalization on Monday. Since March 14, there have been 1,030 hospitalizations in Allegheny County residents.

Pennsylvania’s covid-19 tracking website reports there are currently 64 residents of Allegheny County being treated for covid-19 in hospitals, with 12 of them on ventilators.
