Allegheny County reports 149 new cases of covid-19

Allegheny County on Friday reported 149 new cases of coronavirus.

Of those, 107 cases are confirmed from 1,385 PCR tests. The remaining 42 are listed as probable, with 28 of those resulting from positive antigen tests.

The county has a total of 13,821 cases since the pandemic began in March, according to the Allegheny County Health Department.

The seven-day average has risen to 103 cases in the county and the seven-day total is 719 cases. Both are the highest they have been since early August.

The county reported six new coronavirus-related deaths, for a total of 403 to date. Two of the deceased were in their 70s, one was in their 80s and three in their 90s. Two of the deaths are reportedly associated with long-term care homes.

The county has reported 1,325 hospitalizations since March with 342 admitted to the intensive care unit and 9,860 covid-19 recoveries. Total patients requiring ventilation is 129.

The new cases in the county break down into these age groups:

Ages 0-4: 3 cases.

Ages 5-12: 5 cases.

Ages 13-18: 11 cases.

Ages 19-24: 23 cases.

Ages 25-49: 52 cases.

Ages 50-64: 26 cases.

Ages 65 and older: 29 cases.
