After record-setting case counts over the past week in Allegheny County, new covid-19 cases have come down a bit.
The Allegheny County Health Department reported 288 additional cases Tuesday. The new cases are a near split, with 145 confirmed and 143 probable. In November, Allegheny County has seen a 30% increase in new cases.
Three additional coronavirus-related deaths were reported, with dates of death on Saturday or Sunday. One person was in their 70s, one in their 80s and one in their 90s.
Total cases and deaths in the county now stand at 20,814 and 462, respectively.
In the county, there are currently 318 covid-19 patients hospitalized. Of those, 111 are in the ICU and 44 are on ventilators.
Tuesday’s new reported covid-19 cases range in age from 1 month to 100 years old, with a median age of 40.
Dates of positive tests range from July 22 to Monday. The health department said only two tests were from July and two tests were from the beginning of November. The majority of tests are less than a week old, per the health department.
