Allegheny County reports 60 new coronavirus cases

Allegheny County on Thursday reported 60 new coronavirus cases for a total of 11,927 since March.

Of the new cases, 54 are confirmed and four are listed as probable. The 7-day average for cases in the county is 60.

There were 1,140 new PCR tests reported.

There were no new deaths reported in Allegheny, leaving the total at 376 since reporting began in March.

There are 45 patients currently hospitalized for covid-19 in the county, with nine of those using a ventilator. Since March there have been 1,191 hospitalizations.

The new cases range in age from 7 months to 91 years with a median age of 35 years, according to the county health department. They fall into these age groups:

Ages 0-04 - 3 cases.

Ages 5-12 - 1 case.

Ages 13-18 - 3 cases.

Ages 19-24 - 8 cases.

Ages 25-49 - 26 cases.

Ages 50-64 - 11 cases.

Ages 65+ - 8 cases.

Of the total cases reported, 11,429 have been confirmed and 498 remain probable. There have been 168,382 people who tested negative for the coronavirus in the county, according to the state’s Department of Health.
