Allegheny County reports 68 new coronavirus cases, 4 deaths
There are 68 new coronavirus cases in Allegheny County, the health department reported Friday.
Of the new cases, 49 are confirmed and 19 are probable, with 833 new PCR tests reported.
The total cases reported is now 11,578, with 11,133 of those confirmed and 445 probable. The new cases — from tests conducted Sept. 3-16 — are in people ranging in age from one to 98, with a median age of 33, reports the department.
The total number of negative cases in the county is 163,132.
Four new deaths related to covid-19 were reported Friday. The total deaths is now 370 since March, according to the health department.
Of the new deaths, one patient was in their 60s, one in their 70s and two in their 80s. The dates of death ranged from Sept. 4-11. Two of the deaths are associated with a long-term care facility, the department said.
There have been a total of 1,105 covid-19 patients hospitalized in the county. According to the state’s covid-19 website, there are 38 Allegheny County residents currently in the hospital, with five of them on ventilators.
Allegheny County’s seven-day case average is 73.
The new cases fall into the following age groups:
Age 0-4: 1
Age 5-12: 3
Age 13-18: 5
Age 19-24: 9
Ages 25-49: 31
Ages 50-64: 12
Ages 65 and over: 7
