Confused about REAL ID? This Q&A session could help
State Sen. Lindsey Williams and Rep. Sara Innamorato have scheduled a workshop for Friday in Millvale to help constituents navigate Pennsylvania’s REAL ID program.
Starting in October 2020, state residents will need federally accepted identification such as a REAL ID drivers license for domestic air travel or to enter a federal building or military installation. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will begin issuing licenses in March.
“The REAL ID program has been the source of a lot of questions for everyone,” Williams said in a statement. “People want to know if they need one, what documents they will need to apply, how to get those documents and when this whole process will be happening. Hopefully this event can answer those questions.”
Williams, D-West View, and Innamorato, D-Lawrenceville, scheduled the workshop for 6-7 p.m. at the Millvale Community Center, 416 Lincoln Ave. Representatives from PennDOT, the Pennsylvania Department of Health and Allegheny County Department of Court Records will also be there to answer questions.
