Kevin Harpur of Allison Park celebrated his 100th birthday Jan. 30 with family members in a unique way.

Though Kevin is a lifelong bachelor, his family of nephews and nieces, along with their families, celebrated his milestone birthday with a reverse drive-by. His nieces, Judy McDowell Daniels and Maura McDowell Malinowski, drove Kevin to four different stops to visit with relatives.

At his first stop, members the Harpur family gathered at the home of Bonnie Harpur Nicotra of West Deer. Other stops included the homes of Joani Jerome Hayden of McCandless, Meuveen Roney of McCandless and Judy Daniels of Allison Park, where Kevin viewed 23 video greetings from family members across the country.

Kevin Harpur currently lives at Hampton Fields Village, an independent living community in Hampton.

John Harpur of Pine said of his uncle: “To his family, he is the crazy uncle who can make you belly laugh at his wit and antics. (He is) the uncle with whom you always had fun, especially doing things that your parents may not have approved of.”
