Republicans Doug Arlow and Joe Wall and Democrat Nicholas Giorgetti are the apparent winners of contested races in the Nov. 7 General Election for McCandless Council, according to unofficial returns from the Allegheny County Board of Elections.

With 100 percent of precincts reporting, Arlow had 729 votes to 700 votes for Claudia Buonocore to take the Ward 1 seat.

Giorgetti tallied 841 votes to 785 for Republican Brian Snyder to win the Ward 3 contest.

And Wall defeated Democrat Kathleen Roppa in Ward 5, 780-755.

Patricia Cloonan had won the Democratic and Republican nominations for the Ward 7 seat and ran unopposed.

The results are unofficial until they have been certified by the Board of Elections.
