• Natureology: Birds: 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Nov. 11

Small to large, these feathered creatures eat more, breathe more and know more. They’re smart. Even better, they’re the grandkids of dinosaurs. Find out more about birds from Tony Palermo. The program is open to children of all ages, and registration is required. Mark your calendars: The Dec. 9 program will be about bugs.

• Researching Your Family’s Story with Ancestry.com: 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 19

Teens and adults are invited to join professional genealogist Trish Buben of Stonycreek Genealogy to learn how to find your family’s stories hidden in searchable online records. Topics covered will include beginning a family tree on Ancestry, search tips and ways to break down brick walls in your personal research. Registration is required.

• Live Music at the Library: 7 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 20

The Friends of Northern Tier Library will welcome musician John Patrick Heiserman for a night of music. Whether he’s crooning a jazz standard, playing a bluesy original or charming the crowd with a whistle and a story, he brings heart, humor and humanity to every stage. Doors will open on the library’s lower level at 6:30 p.m. with the show beginning at 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided. Registration is requested. There is a suggested donation of $5 a person.
