Hampton Community Library, 3200 Lochner Road, is open Mondays through Saturdays. 

Its September through May hours are 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays and Fridays, 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays.

Notice to patrons

The library will be closed Aug. 30-Sept. 1 for Labor Day.

The library also will be closed all day on Friday, Aug. 22, for carpet cleaning. The library will reopen at noon Aug. 23.

Experience Kits showcase historic sites, museums

The library offers a variety of Experience Kits.

The kits give two adults and up to six children the opportunity to visit eight historic sites and museums for free:

• Heinz History Center in Pittsburgh’s Strip District, including the Fort Pitt Museum in Point State Park and Meadowcroft Rock Shelter & Historic Village in Avella

• Bushy Run Battlefield, Jeannette

• Depreciation Lands Museum, Hampton

• Gibson House Manor, aka Mark Twain Manor, Jamestown

• Historic Fort Steuben, Steubenville, Ohio

• Captain William Vicary Mansion, Freedom

• Duncan & Miller Glass Museum, Washington, Pa.

• Harmony Museum, Harmony

Each pass can be checked out for up to one week at a time. Plus, each pass comes with virtual access to educational information, itinerary ideas and other fun content.
